Traits grant passive bonuses (with exceptions) to Hunters who possess them. They can be purchased as upgrades for Hunters who advance in levels though earning XP in-game and may already be present on ones who are available for recruitment. Legendary Hunters receive three random Traits, of which are determined based on your Bloodline Rank. Minimum combined Upgrade Point value of Traits for Legendary Hunters worth 11 Upgrade Points. If a Legendary Hunter's Traits are worth less than 11 Upgrade Points, they will receive the difference as separate Upgrade Points that can be spent at will. Also, Traits can be gained through Trait Spurs, which are either found throughout the map, or can be dropped from Meatheads after killing them, with a 50% chance. They can be acquired by interacting with them, provided your Hunter does not already have the associated Trait, and has an available Trait slot.

Traits can also be removed from your Hunters at the cost of 1 Upgrade Point. So for example, if a Trait is worth 5 Upgrade Points, removing that Trait will refund 4 Upgrade Points. Only exception are Traits that worth 1 Upgrade Point - removing them will always refund 1 Upgrade Point.

A player's Bloodline Rank determines which ones are accessible when upgrading a Hunter, while the Hunter's tier determines which ones might be rolled during recruitment.

There is 53 Traits in game, 5 of which are Burn Traits and 6 of which are Scarce Traits.

Bloodless Bloodless 3 1 Bleeding will not escalate from light to medium or intense bleeding.
Bolt Thrower Bolt Thrower 3 32 Reduced reload time for Crossbows.
Bulletgrubber Bulletgrubber 4 26 Recover the unfired round when performing partial reloads.
Bulwark Bulwark 2 1 Reduce the damage from explosions and Bomb Lance harpoon attacks by 50%. Vastly reduces the duration of being fully blinded by a Flash Bomb.
Conduit Conduit 5 38 Get a Health and Stamina boost when your team picks up a Clue or closes a Rift.

Hundred Hands Hundred Hands 2 51 Increases the damage of a Bow and reduces sway while at full draw. Allows use of arrows in melee attacks.
Iron Eye Iron Eye 3 9 Remain in iron sights between shots when firing bolt-action, lever-action, and pump-action weapons.
Kiteskin Kiteskin 1 16 Significantly reduces fall damage.
Levering Levering 4 6 Faster rate of fire from the hip when using lever-action weapons.
Lightfoot Lightfoot 5 47 Vault, fall, and climb ladders silently. Also reduces the sound of walking through noise traps.
Magpie Magpie 1 1 Receive three short effects when picking up a Bounty Token: Antidote, Stamina, and Regeneration.
SOLO: Dark Sight Boost capacity in all Boost sources are doubled.
Martialist Martialist 2 28 Allows a Katana to be sheathed, which enables a first strike attack that does extra damage.
Mithridatist Mithridatist 3 40 Drastically reduces the time needed to recover from poisoning.
Packmule Packmule 4 1 Receive an additional Tool or Consumable when looting players or opening item boxes.
Physician Physician 5 45 Reduce the time needed to bandage.
Pitcher Pitcher 6 61 Increased throwing range for all items using the aim helper.
Poacher Poacher 1 36 Place and disarm traps quietly.

Resilience Resilience 3 4 Your Hunter is revived with up to full Health.
Salveskin Salveskin 2 1 While alive, reduce all fire damage and stop burn speed and stop time from escalating.
Scopesmith Scopesmith 2 22 Remain in scope view after firing a shot while using any weapon with a scope.
Serpent Serpent 4 14 Using Dark Sight, interact with nearby Clues, Rifts, Banishable Targets, and abandoned Bounty from a safe distance. (25m)

Silent Killer Silent Killer 4 62 Reduces the sound you make when performing melee attacks.
Steady Aim Steady Aim 2 30 Weapon sway gradually lessens and stops when you're looking through a scope or aperture sights.

Burn Traits[]

Burn Traits will be removed upon activating their effect. Same traits can be stacked, but occupy separate slots. Stack limit is defined individually per Trait. Scarce Traits can be identified by their dark red glowing Trait Spur appearance. A Trait can be a Scarce Trait and a Burn Trait at the same time.

Scarce Traits[]

Scarce Traits can be obtained only in game through Trait Charms, either randomly or as a drop from a Meathead, Scrapbeak, or the Hellborn. Scarce Traits can be identified by their dark blue glowing Trait Spur appearance. A Trait can be a Scarce Trait and a Burn Trait at the same time.
